Position Summary:

The Admissions Building Guide plays a pivotal role in creating a welcoming and informative environment for prospective students, visitors, and guests within arts, entertainment, and recreational facilities. This position is responsible for guiding individuals through the admissions process, providing detailed information about programs, events, and facility amenities to ensure a positive and engaging experience. The role requires a deep understanding of the institution’s offerings and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.

The Admissions Building Guide also supports the admissions team by managing visitor flow, answering inquiries, and assisting with event coordination. Ultimately, this position contributes to the institution’s reputation and success by fostering a friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient admissions environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, or visitor engagement roles.
  • Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly convey information to diverse audiences.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including familiarity with scheduling and visitor management software.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during tours and events.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in arts, entertainment, recreation, or educational environments.
  • Knowledge of admissions processes and procedures within similar institutions.
  • Multilingual abilities to assist a diverse visitor population.
  • Certification in customer service or hospitality management.
  • Experience with event planning or coordination.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and welcome visitors, prospective students, and guests upon arrival, providing a warm and professional first impression.
  • Conduct guided tours of the facility, highlighting key features, programs, and upcoming events relevant to the arts, entertainment, and recreation sectors.
  • Answer questions regarding admissions procedures, program offerings, schedules, and facility policies accurately and courteously.
  • Assist with the coordination and execution of admissions events, open houses, and special tours to enhance visitor engagement.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all admissions materials, promotional content, and institutional updates to provide accurate information.
  • Manage visitor check-in and registration processes efficiently, ensuring compliance with safety and security protocols.
  • Collaborate with admissions and administrative staff to report visitor feedback and suggest improvements to the visitor experience.
