The Dental Hygienist will provide preventive dental services and oral health education to patients receiving care at Pawnee Indian Health Center. The provider will work collaboratively with dentists, dental assistants, and other healthcare professionals to promote optimal oral health and support comprehensive dental care services.
Minimum Qualifications:- Active Dental Hygienist License in any U.S. State or Territory
- Graduate of an accredited Dental Hygiene Program
- Current CPR/BLS Certification
- Minimum 2–5 years of Dental Hygienist experience preferred
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Certification in Nitrous Oxide Administration preferred/required
- Certification in Local Anesthesia Administration preferred/required
- Dental prophylaxis and periodontal maintenance
- Oral health assessments and screenings
- Scaling and root planing
- Fluoride treatments and sealants
- Dental radiography (X-rays)
- Nitrous oxide administration
- Local anesthesia administration
- Patient education and preventive care counseling
- Infection control and sterilization procedures
- Electronic dental records documentation
- Perform comprehensive oral health assessments and dental hygiene examinations.
- Provide dental cleanings, prophylaxis, scaling, root planing, and periodontal maintenance.
- Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide in accordance with state regulations and facility policies.
- Take and interpret dental radiographs.
- Apply fluoride treatments, sealants, and preventive dental therapies.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, nutrition, and preventive dental care.
- Document patient care accurately in electronic dental records.
- Maintain infection control standards and ensure compliance with OSHA, CDC, and facility guidelines.
- Collaborate with dentists and dental staff to develop and implement treatment plans.
- Assist in identifying dental conditions requiring further evaluation or treatment.
