About the OpportunityWe are seeking a Primary Care Physician (MD or DO) for a full-time locum/contract opportunity in Nowata, Oklahoma
. This physician will provide comprehensive primary and acute care to both adult and pediatric patients in an outpatient setting.

- Monday–Friday
- 40 hours per week
- Shifts scheduled within approximately 7:00 AM–5:30 PM
- Potential schedule options include four 10-hour days or five 8-hour days

- Provide comprehensive primary care to adult and pediatric patients
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat routine, chronic, and acute medical conditions
- Manage approximately 18–24 scheduled patient appointments per day after orientation
- Provide routine and drop-in/acute care
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic testing
- Prescribe medications and coordinate specialty referrals as appropriate
- Manage patients with chronic healthcare needs
- Maintain timely and accurate medical documentation
- Collaborate with nursing, case management, and other clinical support staff
- Work independently while maintaining high standards of patient care
- MD or DO required
- Active Oklahoma medical license required — no exceptions
- Must be comfortable providing care to patients of all ages
- Family Medicine or Internal Medicine training preferred; relevant Emergency Medicine training/experience may also be considered
- Appropriate board certification, board eligibility, active participation in the certification process, or successful completion of an applicable ACGME- or AOA-accredited postgraduate training program
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
- Ability to manage a busy primary care patient population independently
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, and documentation skills
- Tribal health or rural health experience is a plus, but not required
- Cerner experience preferred, but not required
- Must be flexible and comfortable working independently
Providers have access to a strong clinical support structure, including nursing staff, clinical assistants, referral management, and case management support for patients with chronic and complex healthcare needs.
Providers also have access to a Digital Clinical Assistant integrated into the EMR to assist with clinical documentation and charting.
