About this Position

Langston University, a comprehensive land-grant historically Black institution of higher learning, invites nominations and applications for the position of Site Director, School of Nursing - Langston Campus. The University seeks an academic leader who can articulate and advance a creative vision for the future of the School of Nursing; align strategic goals with the university's mission; ensure program compliance and academic excellence;

and foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing academic environment.

Teaching Areas:

The candidate may be assigned to teach one or more of the following areas based on expertise and departmental needs:
  • Child rearing (Pediatrics)
  • Childbearing (Obstetrics)
  • Adult Health (Medical-Surgical)
  • Psychosocial/Mental Health Nursing
Didactic and/or clinical instruction is required based on full-time or adjunct status. Clinical teaching may include weekday, evening, and weekend shifts.

Essential Duties and Responsiblities
  • Provide day-to-day operational oversight of the Langston campus nursing program
  • Lead and coordinate all faculty and student activities at the site to ensure program continuity and quality
  • Oversee curriculum delivery, implementation, and evaluation in collaboration with program faculty
  • Monitor course syllabi, instructional quality, and clinical experiences for consistency and alignment with program standards
  • Conduct regular program assessments and lead continuous quality improvement initiatives
  • Lead strategic planning and goal setting in coordination with the Dean and broader nursing leadership
  • Assists in preparing and submitting reports for accreditation bodies (e.g., ACEN), the Oklahoma Board of Nursing (OBN), and internal university offices
  • Ensure site compliance with accreditation, state, and federal regulations
  • Develop and maintain productive partnerships with clinical agencies, education stakeholders, and community organizations
  • Manage faculty performance reviews, class observations, and developmental feedback sessions
  • Provide conflict resolution and mediation support for faculty, staff, and students
  • Support enrollment management, retention strategies, and student success initiatives
  • Lead faculty onboarding, mentoring, and professional development planning
  • Facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration with other university departments and schools
  • Coordinate use of campus facilities, technology, simulation labs, and instructional resources
  • Manage purchasing requests and resource allocations in consultation with the Dean
  • Represent the School of Nursing in university-wide leadership meetings, initiatives, and public engagements
  • Support the development and implementation of grants and externally funded projects
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean
Required Qualifications
  • Master's in Nurisng in from an accredited institution (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
  • Minimum of two years of academic administrative experience, including teaching, budgeting, and personnel supervision at the college level
Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:
  • Unencumbered RN license in Oklahoma or eligibility for licensure (must obtain before hire)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctorate
    • Active enrollment in an accredited doctoral program with documented progress may be considered with a signed agreement for completion
  • Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:
    • Demonstrated leadership in accreditation, curriculum development, and faculty development
    • Area of specialization in Adult Health (Medical-Surgical) or Child rearing (Pediatrics)
