Travel Educational Interpreter - Marlow, Oklahoma

Location: Marlow

This opportunity is for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to provide communication support in educational settings. This role involves travel to various schools in and around Marlow, OK, delivering critical interpreting services that bridge communication gaps for students who are Deaf or hard of hearing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate clear and effective communication between Deaf or hard of hearing students, their peers, teachers, and staff through American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation.
• Interpret classroom instruction, school activities, meetings, and events with accuracy and professionalism.
• Collaborate closely with educators and support staff to ensure an inclusive learning environment.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards of interpreting.
• Travel to multiple schools within the designated region as needed.

Desired Qualifications and

Experience:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language with demonstrated interpreting experience in educational settings.
• Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter is strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of educational terminology and student needs within K-12 environments.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel regularly to various school locations in Marlow, OK and surrounding areas.
