The Skiatook Library , located on Highway 20 in the heart of downtown Skiatook, is an integral part of the city life and serves a population with an average of 2,500 visitors monthly. The Skiatook Library Children's Library Associate welcomes and assists customers and works closely with families through programming and displays. Serves as outreach contact and conducts community outreach with local schools and other organizations.

Develops and maintains weekly storytime, and plans and implements participation in system-wide programs such as the Summer Reading Program and Books-to-Treasure.

• Plans and implements the location’s participation in system-wide special programs such as the Summer Reading Program and Books-to-Treasure;
• Communicates effectively, trains customers, and resolves problems at the point of need in the use and application of all of the library’s self-service features including self-check, on-line account management, pay stations, the online catalog, online resource guides, and instructional videos;
• Works at public service desks and rotates throughout zones, helping customers by providing instructional training and problem solving at the point of need; responding to customers' questions, conducting research and providing answers to reference questions;
• Helps develop and maintain the children’s collection at this library; including recommending materials for purchase;
• Serves as outreach contact and conducts community outreach, which may include services to educational and professional institutions, community organizations and after-school programs;
• Actively supports TCCL’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion efforts, and the Library’s Be All In culture;

• Bachelors’ degree required.
• Library, education, retail or customer service experience preferred.

Salary: $21.10/hr.

Status: Part time - 20 hour/week

Wednesday 9:30 am - 6 pm

Thursday 12 pm - 4 pm

Rotating an occasional Saturday 9:30 am - 5 pm and Sunday at a Regional Library 1 pm - 5pm

Work occasionally requires stooping and bending. Occasional light lifting such as three or four reams of paper, four or five books, or other materials (up to 20 pounds) may be required. There are usually no major sources of discomfort; work is essentially conducted in a normal office environment with acceptable lighting, temperature, and air conditions.
