ESSENTIAL COMMITMENTS / RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Spiritual Growth

  • Campus Ministry Leadership
    • Inspire, coach, and develop campus staff ministers (“ministers”), students, faculty, and ministry partners to increase witnessing communities.
    • Act as a Visionary Guide:
      Create a culture of dependence on God; establish and advance witnessing communities that reach every corner of campuses.
    • Model Inter Varsity’s vision and Core Values for supervises.
    • Lead staff, students, and faculty through Scripture, prayer, teaching, and discipleship experiences that motivate and shape ministry around vision.
    • Set appropriate annual goals through prayer, research, and reflection with teams.
    • Lead your team to develop and implement plans to achieve ministry goals and adapt them as needed through rhythms of action, reflection, and evaluation.
    • Develop, align, and leverage programs and structures to move the mission forward.
    • Recruit a diversity of qualified minister candidates and develop ministers spiritually and professionally.
    • Supervise ministers, using appropriate leadership styles, to help them accomplish assigned tasks with coaching, assessment, correction, and affirmation.
    • Build healthy, diverse relationships across racial, ethnic, national, and gender barriers with staff, students, faculty, and partners.
    • Build an effective minister team that collaborates well and accomplishes goals.
  • Organizational Collaboration
    • Participate in regional leadership as determined by the Regional Director to set vision and strategies.
    • Respond positively and constructively to the direction and coaching of line supervisors.
    • Build productive ministry partnerships with regional and national collaborative leaders.
    • Establish systems, processes, and protocols for regular operational and administrative tasks (reporting, finances, human resources, etc.).
    • Maintain sound financial status of the area through budgeting, expense control, and ministry partnership development.
    • Become familiar with and comply with all Inter Varsity policies and procedures.
  • Ministry Partnership Development (MPD)
    • Develop a team of partners who will resource the ministry financially, in prayer, or with volunteer service.
    • Ensure ministry budget is fully funded and supervise each minister’s MPD, equipping staff to build ministry partners.
    • Build resource networks with alumni, volunteers, churches, advocacy councils, and major donors, especially to fund low‑network ministers.
    • Communicate regularly with ministry partners.
  • Accomplish all other assigned tasks as appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Annually affirm Inter Varsity’s Statement of Agreement (Doctrinal Basis and Purpose Statement).
  • Bachelor’s degree (required) and a minimum of three years of campus ministry or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong ministry skills: communicate spiritual vision, teach spiritual and biblical principles, plan ministry programs, spiritually disciple, coach, and mentor.
  • Proven ability to work well with others and develop a campus‑minister team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to minister to diverse ethnic communities and faculty.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem‑solving skills.
  • Familiarity with word‑processing, presentation, email, and spreadsheet software.

Pay Range: $55,200.00 – $73,608.00 per year. Compensation may vary based on the ability to fund the position through personal fundraising. All salaries are subject to geographical adjustment and donor funding efforts.
