Family & Consumer Science Teacher

Location: Gore

Gore Public Schools is seeking a motivated and student-centered Family & Consumer Science (FACS) teacher to join our middle and high school team. The ideal candidate will create a positive learning environment and deliver engaging, real-world instruction that prepares students with essential life skills.

Responsibilities:

* Plan and deliver standards-based instruction in Family & Consumer Science courses (e.g., nutrition, culinary arts, personal finance, child development, career readiness, and life skills)

* Create hands-on learning experiences that connect content to real-life applications

* Foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment

* Assess student progress and provide timely feedback to support growth

* Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance

* Collaborate with colleagues, administration, and community partners

* Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff

* Sponsor and support student organizations such as FCCLA (if applicable)

* Participate in professional development and school-wide initiatives

Required Qualifications - Valid teaching certification

* Strong classroom management and organizational skills

* Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff

* Effective communication and instructional skills
