Teacher of Elementary Special Education (PK-6 Resource Room) - Muskogee, OK Area
Soliant Education is seeking a Teacher of Elementary Special Education for an onsite contract position in the Muskogee, OK area. This education industry role is for the school year, with one confirmed opening and potential for a second position depending on district needs. The assignment is based in a single elementary school serving students in grades PreK through 6th.
Schedule and Assignment Details
This position runs from August 3rd through May 20th, with a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday. The educator will work exclusively within one elementary school setting. The role centers on a resource room model with a rotating group of students, typically serving no more than 10 learners at a time.
Caseload and Instructional Responsibilities
The caseload includes students with a range of needs such as other health impairments, autism spectrum disorders, learning disabilities, hearing impairments, and severe to profound disabilities. The teacher will deliver targeted instruction in a resource setting while supporting individualized academic and behavioral growth. Responsibilities include developing and implementing IEPs, writing behavior plans, preparing lesson plans, and managing grading and progress monitoring.
Collaboration with school staff and related service providers is essential to ensure student success.
Requirements and Qualifications
Candidates must hold an Oklahoma Special Education Teacher Certification for grades PK-6th or experience in special education classrooms or resource settings is strongly preferred. Successful applicants will demonstrate strong classroom management skills, attention to compliance, and the ability to adapt instruction to meet diverse student needs.
Compensation and Benefits
Pay ranges from $30 to $45 per hour, depending on degree level, experience, and other relevant factors. Travel stipends included in pay structure, please inquire with recruiter on pre-screening call.
