Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, and evaluate instructional activities in a science classroom at the professional level.
- Prepare yearly instructional outlines and detailed daily lesson plans covering relevant units of study, specifying objectives, activities, and evaluative methods for both group and individual programs.
- Teach students using appropriate instructional methods and techniques, adapting resources to improve academic achievement and develop cognitive, affective, and psychomotor skills.
- Continuously evaluate individual and group academic progress through criterion‑reference tests, standardized tests, oral tests, and other evaluative instruments; use alternative instruction to meet individual needs.
- Generate progress reports for parents, confer with parents and other concerned individuals, and maintain required records in accordance with applicable regulations.
- Maintain control of the assigned class and handle discipline independently, except for chronic or extreme behavior problems; counsel individual students within established guidelines to support behavior and progress.

- A background security investigation is required for all new hires; appointment is contingent upon successful completion.
- A valid driver’s license is required if the incumbent may need to operate a government‑owned or leased motor vehicle.
- Must be willing to enroll in an Alternative Licensure program to obtain and maintain valid teacher licensure or certification in the required specialty field.
- This position is exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act.
- Probationary period is one academic year, during which fitness and continued employment will be evaluated.
- Possess a Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) from an accredited educational institution.
- Provide proof of enrollment in a state alternative teaching licensure or certificate program within 90 days of the start date.
- Enrollment should be for the appropriate endorsement/subject field as identified in the job announcement (e.g., chemistry).
- Applicants with DODEA certification may work with states directly for reciprocity licensure; alternative licensure is not required unless the state stipulates otherwise.
- Valid state‑issued teaching license or certification in the appropriate endorsement area is required for eligibility under TEACHER, CY‑1710.
- Foreign education must be evaluated by a private credential evaluation service to establish equivalency to a U.S. accredited program.
- Submit legible copies of transcripts; official transcripts are required upon selection.
- Official transcripts must be viewable and not locked or encrypted.
- Transcripts should be from an accredited or pre‑accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
- Pay Level 11 requires a Bachelor’s Degree.
- Pay Level 12 requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 15 graduate semester hours.
- Pay Level 13 requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 30 graduate semester hours.
- Pay Level 14 requires a Master’s Degree.
Pay setting is based on degree and is determined after the selection process; the per‑hour rate may be modified from the posted pay table based on the school calendar and is not negotiable.
Benefits- Bargaining Unit Status:
Covered by the Federation of Indian Service Employees, American Federation of Teachers Local 4521. - Government Quarters are unavailable.
- Direct Deposit of pay is required.
- Travel and relocation expenses will not be paid.
