Position: EDUCATION SERVICES SPECIALIST with Security Clearance
Location: Albert

Duties
1. Provides individual career, academic and force development advisement to military personnel, dependents and civilian personnel pursuing Voluntary Education opportunities.
2. Serves as technical expert on a variety of Voluntary Education programs. Evaluate individual's potential and eligibility for programs including Community College of the Air Force (CCAF), commissioning and Veterans Affairs (VA) education benefits.
3. Provides advisement and coordination on the Skill Bridge program.
4. Provides mass briefings and a variety of outreach and customer service duties.
5. Performs various administrative duties related to the Voluntary Education program. Requirements Conditions of employment

* Males must be registered for Selective Service, see (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).
* Position is not Centrally Managed and PCS is not authorized
* Work occasionally requires travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft/vehicle to conferences, meetings or functions away from the duty office/location. Travel may include overnight stays
* This position is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program
* Personnel data to which the incumbent has access is controlled by the Privacy Act of 1974 and must be safeguarded appropriately
* Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
* May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours and/or shift work may be required which may include overtime and/or irregular hours
* Disclosure of Political Appointments
* Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.
* Upon completion of your probationary/trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest.
* Must meet positive education requirements specified in the 1740 OPM qualification standards Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Professional and Scientific Positions, to include the Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR) for the GS-1740, Education Services Series. BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT: for GS-1740 Positions: A Bachelor's degree (or higher degree that included or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours appropriate to the position to be filled in one or a combination of the areas described below.

At least one course must have been from (1) or (2) below. (For guidance counselor positions, a college or university-sponsored practicum in counseling is also required): 1. Tests and measurement:
Study of the selection, evaluation, administration, scoring, interpretation, and uses of group and individual aptitude, proficiency, interest, and other tests.
2. Adult education:
Study of the adult as a learner, teaching-learning theories for adults, models and procedures for planning, designing, managing, and evaluating adult learning activities.
3. Educational program administration:
Study of the foundation and methods in organizing for adult and continuing education programs.
4. Curriculum development or design:
Study of the principles and techniques for development of curricula for adult or vocational education programs.
5. Teaching methods:
Study of teaching strategies and learning styles of the adult learner.
6. Guidance and counseling:
Study of the purposes and methods in counseling and guidance, the role of the counselor in various settings, approaches to counseling, and the uses of tests in the counseling situation.
7. Career planning:
Study of career development, learning activities, systems, approaches, program coordination, use of educational and community resources, and vocational counseling systems.
8. Occupational information:
