Position: Facilitator - Quality Child Care Matters (QCCM)
Location: Dacoma

Description

The Quality Child Care Matters (QCCM) Facilitator is responsible for creating a network of family child care providers and ensuring that they have the support and resources needed to continue to provide high quality care and education to the children in their homes. The QCCM Facilitator will provide mentoring, coaching, training, technical assistance, and support to family child care providers. The QCCM Facilitator is responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere.

The work environment is generally performed in an office setting. The noise level is usually moderate. Working in an office requires maintaining physical condition and stamina appropriate to performing assigned duties and responsibilities, including stationary positioning for extended periods, interacting with co-workers, visitors, etc. It frequently requires lifting boxes of copy paper, office supplies, etc. Occasional use of upper extremities to press against equipment, furniture, etc.,

between 30-50 pounds with steady force to thrust forward, downward, or outward. It requires occasional use of the upper extremities to exert force to draw, haul, or tug objects between 30-50 pounds in a sustained motion. Raising objects between 30-50 pounds from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position is occasionally required. Will be required to operate a motor vehicle during the course of duties.

Travel up to 40% of the time for in-person professional development, meetings and site observations.

Regularly required to use upper extremities, including reaching with hands and arms to move office supplies, files, documents, etc., from a lower to a higher position. Occasionally, it is required to bend the legs to rest on the knees, bend the body downward and forward by bending the legs and spine (at the waist), and move about on hands and knees or hands and feet.

Frequently required to communicate information or instructions to co-workers, visitors, parents, peers, management, etc. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer, and calculator. Working evenings, weekends, and holidays as required to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position successfully.

Normal to heavy travel is required to attend meetings, classes, and workshops in and out of the service area. Must be able to travel by air as necessary to attend training, conferences, and related activities.

Essential Functions Job Function
  • Execute AVANCE’s QCCM program, including:
  • Providing direct implementation of QCCM curriculum to family child care providers, as needed Recruiting licensed and unlicensed family child care providers, working closely with AVANCE’s local partners and other agencies
  • Facilitating virtual and in-person trainings and offering professional development to ensure licensing standards are being followed, appropriate policies/procedures are in place, and best practices in early childhood are implemented to help providers improve the quality of their care
  • Visiting providers at home to conduct assessments and offer one-on-one program support, such as curriculum planning, model lessons, mentoring, coaching, guided practice and feedback, goal setting, and other support as needed
  • Provide small-group and individual coaching to enrolled family child care providers
  • Communicating and coordinating across family child care providers as well as any external resources
  • Linking providers to community resources and supports
  • Organizing and leading ongoing network meetings that work with family child care providers’ schedules
  • Keeping detailed records of all interactions with providers
  • Implementing network services based on national research and data from local providers
  • Ensure a culture of continuous improvement & user-centered focus:
  • Continuously improving the QCCM curriculum and network services based on data from needs of local providers, and national research Managing data collection, analysis, and evaluation
