Location: Beggs

As a Student Success Coach and Mentor with City Year, you will serve full-time in a partner public school, helping students build academic skills, social-emotional strengths, and confidence. In close collaboration with teachers and school staff, you'll provide small-group and one-on-one tutoring, track student progress, and implement interventions that keep students on track to graduate. You'll build strong relationships with students and families, contribute to a positive school climate, and work on a diverse City Year team committed to social justice, leadership development, and personal growth, while gaining valuable professional experience in education and youth development.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily academic coaching and mentoring to students in partnership with teachers
  • Support classroom instruction through small-group and one-on-one tutoring
  • Build trusting relationships that promote students' social-emotional growth and engagement
  • Track student progress and use data to inform individualized support
  • Collaborate with school staff and Ameri
  • Corps teammates to plan and deliver interventions
  • Communicate with families and school partners to reinforce student success plans
  • Participate in ongoing City Year training, reflection, and professional development
  • Model City Year's values of equity, inclusion, and service within the school community
