Job Summary Exhibits a good fundamental understanding of turbine and generator sets. Will act as an associate coordinator reporting to a senior coordinator, principle coordinator, or superintendent. Could work alone if experience supports activities. Will network throughout the system east and west to increase exposure and experience. Must be able to understand and participate in the following, project development, resource allocations, and specific duration expectations.
Must provide guidance for supervision and craft personnel. Can assist in the planning and development of work packages and outage plans with the project lead and planners. Must continually look for opportunities to increase knowledge and technical skills and increase level of proficiency in the inspection procedures, inspection documentation and use of visual examinations during required large steam turbine generator set overhauls.
Become familiar with computer programs (Work Management System/ Passport/ Turbine Tool/ Business Objects). Must be able to work safely and follow directions.

Position Summary The Senior Turbine Coordinator is responsible for the planning, execution, and oversight of major maintenance outages, capital projects, emergent repairs, and reliability improvement initiatives for steam turbines, gas turbines, generators, boiler feed pumps, and associated balance-of-plant equipment across a fleet of generating stations. This position serves as the primary technical and project management lead for assigned outages and maintenance activities, ensuring safe execution, schedule adherence, budget compliance, and long-term equipment reliability.
The role requires extensive expertise in turbine-generator maintenance, outage management, contractor coordination, risk management, engineering evaluation, and cross-functional stakeholder engagement. The Senior Turbine Coordinator provides technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle from scope development through commissioning and return to service.
What You'll Do:
Outage Planning and Execution Lead planning and execution of major steam turbine, gas turbine, and generator outages.
Develop outage work scopes, schedules, milestones, and execution strategies.
Coordinate outage activities among Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Supply Chain, Contractors, and OEM representatives.
Manage outage critical paths and identify schedule recovery actions when necessary.
Conduct daily outage coordination meetings and status reviews.
Ensure compliance with station outage goals, budgets, and performance objectives.
Lead startup, commissioning, testing, and return-to-service activities following maintenance.
Project Management Serve as Project Manager for maintenance and capital improvement projects.
Develop project execution plans, risk registers, and resource plans.
Monitor project performance, expenditures, schedule adherence, and scope changes.
Coordinate stakeholder communications and provide executive-level project status updates.
Identify and mitigate project risks through formal risk management processes.
Ensure project objectives align with generation reliability, safety, and business goals.
Act as a subject matter expert for:
Steam turbines
Gas turbines
Generators
Boiler feed pumps
Turbine valves and controls
Bearings and seals
Auxiliary systems
Evaluate equipment condition and maintenance strategies.
Lead troubleshooting efforts for vibration, leakage, thermal growth, alignment, performance degradation, and mechanical failures.
Review OEM recommendations and develop site-specific maintenance strategies.
Support root cause failure analyses and corrective action development.
Provide technical guidance during emergent equipment issues and forced outages.
Assist in developing bid packages and technical scopes of work.
Coordinate OEM service representatives and specialty contractors.
