Job Purpose / Summary
This position collaborates with all departments to develop and enhance a culture that protects the environment and eliminates injuries and illnesses. The role leads Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance at the location, including adherence to local, state, federal, and internal policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with EPA and state environmental requirements, including air, radiation, stormwater, hazardous waste, CAFO, SPCC, and other applicable regulations.
- Perform inspections and Best Management Practices (BMPs) in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Ensure OSHA compliance with all applicable regulations.
- Lead monthly and specialized EHS training sessions.
- Develop and deliver EHS training programs based on site trends and compliance requirements.
- Implement proactive, action-based programs to reduce or eliminate work-related accidents and injuries.
- Conduct investigations and implement corrective actions for compliance deficiencies and workplace incidents.
- Perform job site analyses to identify employee exposures and hazards.
- Maintain and complete all sustainability data tracking.
- Conduct EHS site visits, audits, and process reviews as needed.
- Lead sustainability management and tracking for the location, and communicate updates to the Regional EHS Manager.
- Maintain a comprehensive filing system for compliance documentation related to OSHA, EPA, and local requirements.
- Support management of facility safety programs, including but not limited to PPE, EAP, respiratory protection, and fall protection.
- Obtain a ODEQ Class D water operator and Wastewater operator license (CVI provided).

Requirements
- Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) with 2+ years of progressive experience in the field, or an advanced degree with limited experience.
Role and Accountability
This is an experienced professional role requiring an understanding of broad concepts related to environmental, health, and safety practices. The position requires the ability to work independently on moderately complex assignments with minimal supervision.
