Description
Under the supervision of the Gaming Commission Executive Director, the Key License Investigator conducts confidential gaming license suitability investigations for all gaming center personnel including verification of information provided by gaming license applicants. The Key License Investigator performs research and clerical tasks relative to licensing activity. The position must demonstrate excellent customer service, ability to analyze and make recommendations based on research and demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication and computer skills.
Interaction with all levels of staff and management is required.
As described above, under the supervision of the Gaming Commission Executive Director, the Key License Investigator conducts confidential gaming license suitability investigations and performs related research and clerical tasks. The role requires excellent customer service, analytical capability to make recommendations based on research, and strong written and verbal communication and computer skills. Interaction with all levels of staff and management is required.
Requirements- Maintains confidential gaming license files and database to ensure information is current, accurate, auditable and confidential to ensure legal compliance with applicable Tribal, State and Federal law.
- Conducts extensive license suitability investigations and prepares gaming license suitability determinations with recommendations for review by the Gaming Commission for all candidates applying for gaming licenses and permits.
- Submits suitability determinations to the National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) as required by the Indian Regulatory Act.
- Issues Licenses and permits for approved applicants.
- Provides access for on-site review of suitability determinations to the State Gaming Agency standards as required by the Tribal-State Compact.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent or demonstrated work experience.
- Prefer two years college work in administrative area.
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and confidentiality at all times, including under stressful, high-pressure situations.
- Must be able to read, understand, apply and retain knowledge of departmental rules, regulations and policies.
- Prefer applicant to receive NIGC or equivalent certification prior to employment or within two years of initial employment.
- Must submit to and pass applicable drug test. The Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma operates a drug-free workplace.
- Must apply for and receive for Key Gaming License.
- Must possess a current driver’s license.
