The Vault Clerk is responsible for maintaining an accurate count of all items in their banks that have a cash value, including cash, coin, chips, and checks. They ensure compliance with gaming regulations, the NIGC Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS), State Gaming Compact, Tribal Internal Controls Standards (TICS), the Otoe-Missouria Gaming Commission (OMGC), and related policies and procedures.
CASINO/DEPARTMENT OPERATIONS- Properly record all transactions incurred on shift accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain and file all currency transaction logs and reports chronologically for regulatory inspection.
- Prepare and complete all casino deposits.
- Report any suspicious activities or transactions.
- Capable of conducting a shift countdown at the beginning and end.
- Prepare, review, and investigate reports; correct errors and enforce corrective actions.
- Maintain open communication with staff and report incidents to supervisors or managers.
- Keep journal entries for all shift incidents.
- Enter all transactions into the computer system (daily transactions, chip fills, cheque inventory, bank returns, tips, vouchers).
- Perform cash exchanges/conversions among cash, cheques, and other currencies.
- Maintain currency machines and report needed supplies.
- Comply with all policies and procedures.
- Maintain logbooks for meal comps, Red Rock rewards, and vouchers.
- Keep serialized forms in sequential order for audits.
- Verify machine revenue money received from soft count.
- Follow the clearing of hands policy before and after handling money.
- Fill all Kiosk/ATR and Dyna Cash Machines.
- Prepare all cash handling banks.
- Ensure all cash and non‑cash items are secured.
- Maintain a zero variance at shift start and end.
- Attend shifts punctually, limiting absences to maintain efficient guest service.
Monitor relevant activities to ensure enforcement of applicable laws, rules, regulations, and controls—including the National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) and the Otoe-Missouria Gaming Commission (OMGC)—by departmental personnel.
Understand and comply with regulatory requirements and enforce standards, including Title 31.
Perform duties in accordance with company handbooks, tribal and state gaming compacts, IGRA, MICS, OM TICS, and the Bank Secrecy Act.
Maintain departmental shift logs, noting unusual occurrences, incidents, equipment failures, safety issues, and disputes.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must satisfy each essential duty. The following requirements are representative:
- High School Diploma (or equivalent). Casino experience preferred.
- Excellent computer knowledge and experience with cash handling.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be punctual, dependable, and able to report to work as scheduled.
