Your role and responsibilities:
In this role, you will have the opportunity to be the most senior financial officer in your area of responsibility and act as a member of the business area / division leadership team. Each day, you will be responsible for establishing an effective and cost-efficient finance support platform to the business, in line with the group requirements, including oversight of relevant finance group functions and global business services.
You will also showcase your expertise by leading business strategy and providing input to the divisions.

You will be mainly accountable for:
Strategic Finance Leadership & Business Co‑Piloting:
Partner with the Division President to shape and execute business strategy, lead financial planning and performance target setting, and co-drive demand generation while safeguarding ABB’s overall business interests. Provide financial insight on strategic initiatives and ensure alignment with long-term value creation.
Performance Management, Portfolio Steering & Decision Support:
Drive profitability, cost efficiency, and operational performance by proactively identifying gaps, triggering corrective actions, and sharing best practices. Lead and evaluate investments, divestments, M&A, and restructuring initiatives, ensuring business decisions support sustainable growth and resource optimization.
Governance, Compliance, Risk & Control Framework:
Ensure strong financial governance, transparency, and compliance with Group policies, GAAP, and regulatory requirements. Oversee internal controls, audits, and risk-informed decision-making, and drive standardized, compliant processes across finance functions (accounting, controlling, reporting, treasury, planning, tax, and systems).Financial Operations, Optimization & Finance Leadership:
Oversee high-quality financial reporting and closing processes, while driving continuous improvement, cost efficiency, and optimization of capital structure, asset management, and finance processes. Build and lead a high-performing global finance community, ensuring capability development, talent growth, and strong cross-functional collaboration.
Qualifications for the role:
Education & Experience – Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred) with 15+ years of progressive experience in business controlling within a global environment. Minimum 10 years of experience in a financial management role, proven leadership background on a regional or global level.
Financial Expertise – Solid command of finance processes, systems and tools, coupled with deep financial strategy, planning and execution experience.
Business Acumen – Understanding of industrial automation or manufacturing sectors, operations and customer dynamics is highly preferred.
Execution Track Record – Proven ability to deliver results and drive performance in complex, international business environments.
Leadership & Collaboration – Recognized team player with strong communication, business partnering, and stakeholder management skills.
Strategic & Specialized Skills – Experience in financial strategy, planning, and execution; M&A exposure and multilingual capabilities (English required, additional languages is an asset).Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.More about us:
