The Consumer Loan Officer is responsible for providing consultation services to clients of PBM. This position is also responsible for developing and coordinating training seminars and classes designed to meet specific needs of clients of PBM. The Consumer Loan Officer also serves as a key credit professional within the organization and helps lead the community development lending effort. Primary responsibilities will be to source and underwrite loan requests and present to management while providing financial assistance to PBM clientele.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years in lending, banking, or portfolio management is preferred.
- Ability to conduct due diligence, evaluate credit worthiness and prepare credit memorandums of business borrowers.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with individuals and groups.
- Capacity to communicate effectively with diverse constituencies including existing and prospective borrowers, PBM staff, Board members, community partners, and financing partners.
- Responsive to the needs of the clients. Ability to work with people from varied cultural, economic and educational backgrounds through the various curriculum and services proved by the organization.
- Position requires someone who is creative, flexible and a team player. Applicant must be able to multi-task and must be a self-starter.
- Review loan applications and financial data from prospective borrowers performing financial analysis, due diligence and project feasibility assessment.
- Follow up with applicants, conduct site visits, and secure whatever other data necessary to perform sound loan review.
- Prepare written loan reviews including financial analyses and present screened applications to management and/or loan committee.
- Negotiate loan structure and issue commitment letters; prepare and execute loan documents, file necessary legal documents.
- Maintain accurate and complete files on all loans underwritten and approved.
- Maintain constructive and positive working relationships with loan applicants, borrowers, and their representatives.
- Assist the Loan Portfolio Manager with general portfolio management, collection and loan monitoring. Ensure timely evaluation of client financial condition, business trends, collateral coverage and client’s repayment ability.
- Identify loan relationships with weaknesses, develop and recommend collection strategies and action plans, assist in complex negotiations, and restructure loans when necessary.
- Undertake special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Provide and/or arrange technical assistance to potential borrowers including but not limited to cash flow projections, credit repair plans, and preparation of loan applications.
- Establish technical assistance plans for new borrowers.
- Coordinate and deliver training programs that are responsive to the needs of the client.
- Engage in networking opportunities to develop and maintain a wide network of contacts with agencies, community leaders, funders and others to ensure a visible Osage Nation presence.
- Provide record keeping for all pertinent information for clients.
- Provide recommendations for programs and policies of the corporation, in coordination with other staff, for the advancement of personal developmental programs for the client base and the growth of the corporation.
