Description
Position SummaryThe Loan Quality Control Specialist is responsible for reviewing newly originated loans to ensure loan data, documentation, approvals, and system entries are accurate and complete. This position supports loan operations by identifying and resolving documentation or policy exceptions, maintaining accurate electronic loan files, assisting with mortgage and loan modifications, and ensuring required regulatory notices are processed timely and accurately.
Key Responsibilities- Perform next-day verification of newly originated loan data to ensure information entered into the loan system is accurate and consistent with supporting documentation.
- Review loan files for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with bank policies and procedures.
- Identify, document, track, and clear loan documentation and policy exceptions.
- Verify required loan documents are properly completed, executed, and included in the loan file.
- Review and verify data entry for accuracy and consistency with approved loan terms and supporting documentation.
- Assist with mortgage loan processing and approval by verifying required documentation and information.
- Review and process loan modifications, including verification of approval, documentation, and system data.
- Index loan documents into the bank’s electronic filing system to ensure loan files are complete, organized, and easily accessible.
- Process adverse action notices accurately and timely in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of quality control findings and follow up on outstanding exceptions.
- Communicate identified discrepancies or missing documentation to lenders and/or loan operations for resolution.
- Assist with audits, examinations, and other quality control reviews as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality of customer and bank information.
- Stay informed of applicable lending regulations, bank policies, and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Previous banking, lending, loan processing, or loan operations experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies and inconsistencies.
- Knowledge of loan documentation, lending procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet established deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and banking systems preferred.
