** Juvenile Counselor – I, II, IIIBCJPD has three levels of Juvenile Counselors. If you meet the minimum qualifications for any of the levels, we encourage qualified applicants to apply for consideration.$58,227.00 – minimum starting salary for Juvenile Counselor I $63,465.00 - minimum starting salary for Juvenile Counselor II $69,180.00 - minimum starting salary for Juvenile Counselor IIIJuvenile Counselor are also eligible for a $7,000.00 additional base pay from Texas Juvenile Justice Department (total annual amount).Below
is a summary of each level’s job duties, responsibilities, minimum qualification special requirements, working conditions and physical demands. Attached to the positing are the job descriptions for each level.

* Job Summary:
**** LEVEL I (GRADE
4):
** Interviews juveniles and their families to develop individual treatment plans for assigned cases; provides crisis, individual and group counseling sessions; develops discharge recommendations and discharge plans and coordinates reviews on juveniles who are released; participates in program evaluation research activities, including data gathering, recording and analysis; reports allegations of child abuse, neglect and/or exploitation to authorities; and provides on-call coverage for the management of clinical emergencies.
** LEVEL II (GRADE
5):
** Interviews juveniles and families to obtain psychosocial information;
Develops individual treatment plans for assigned cases;
Completes diagnostic assessments and case conceptualization for assigned cases;
Provides crisis, individual and group counseling sessions, and skills development training for juveniles and their families;
Completes and maintains records and/or reports regarding services provided and completed for assigned cases;
Develops exit plans on assigned cases;
Coordinates reviews on assigned cases and follow up after completing services;
Meets with juvenile’s family members, and other service providers to provide information regarding social services and to facilitate other intervention services;
Participates in program evaluation research activities;
Reports allegations of child abuse, neglect and/or exploitation to authorities;
Provides training to Department staff and interns, as well as on-going consultation;
Provide on-call coverage for the management of clinical emergencies.
** LEVEL III (GRADE
6):
** Interviews juveniles and families to obtain psychosocial information;
Develops individual treatment plans for assigned cases;
Completes diagnostic assessments and case conceptualization for assigned cases;
Provides crisis, individual and group counseling sessions, and skills development training for juveniles and their families;
Completes and maintains records and/or reports regarding services provided and completed for assigned cases;
Develops exit plans on assigned cases;
Coordinates reviews on assigned cases and follow up after completing services;
Meets with juvenile’s family members, and other service providers to provide information regarding social services and to facilitate other intervention services;
Participates in program evaluation research activities;
Reports allegations of child abuse, neglect and/or exploitation to authorities;
Provides training to Department staff and interns, as well as on-going consultation;
Provides licensure supervision for LPC-Associates, LMFT-Associates, or LMSW according to their licensure requirements*;
