Job DescriptionPosition: Speech-Language Pathologist
Reports to: Principal
Supervises: None
Qualifications- Hold valid Oklahoma teaching certification in Speech‑Language Pathology.
- Hold ASHA Certification or be eligible for ASHA Clinical Fellowship.
- Master’s degree required.
- Satisfy all district requirements with regard to physical health and citizenship.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
- Master degree preferred.
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
Position Goal: To support students and school teams in the evaluation, identification, and provision of services related to communication disorders in order to improve their social and educational outcomes.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities- Follows procedures, practices, and guidelines outlined by the school site, district, OSDE, and IDEA regulations.
- Selects, administers, and interprets appropriate assessments to determine the need for speech and/or language services in an educational setting.
- Collaborates with members of a multidisciplinary team to determine eligibility and to develop an education plan as necessary.
- Develops targeted goals to address students’ needs with ongoing progress monitoring and service delivery as determined appropriate.
- Provides support to Site Intervention Team(s) to assist with strategies for students who may exhibit communication difficulties impacting their educational day.
- Provides ongoing services/support to staff and teachers to ensure the integration of speech and language strategies, including AAC if appropriate, into a student’s classroom environment.
- Conferences with parents/guardians and other appropriate school personnel to provide support and information regarding the student as necessary.
- Remains current in instructional and technological advances and other matters of speech‑language therapy by participating in professional workshops and conferences.
- Communicates with appropriate agencies, schools, and other organizations as needed in order to meet the needs of students with communication disabilities.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or district special education administration.

Terms:
Nine (9) months a year. Salary and work year to be established by the Board. Benefits as established by Board policy.
