Position: Certified Nurse Assistant- PRN (LTC)
Location: Coalgate

POSITION SUMMARY

The Nurse Aide is accountable for activities of daily living to residents under the supervision of the charge nurse. The Nurse Aide must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the residents served in the facility. The individual must demonstrate the ability to function in an assistive role to the charge nurse in the provision of technical and environmental patient care activities as delegated by and under the supervision of the charge nurse or other licensed staff.

The Nurse Aide will be responsible for: activities of daily living, elimination, infection control, body mechanics and safety of those assigned to his/her care. The nurse aide is expected to adhere and abide by the rules and regulations set forth by the Oklahoma State Department of Health and the organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Demonstrates the ability to acquire assignment and make rounds with off going shift.
  • Demonstrates the ability to provide for activities of daily living: assists with meals and feeds residents; ambulates, turns, and positions residents; provides fresh water and nourishment between meals.
  • Demonstrates the ability to identify residents needs.
  • Demonstrates the ability to dress and groom residents.
  • Demonstrates the ability to perform all skills required for the position. Attach skills assessment documentation.
  • Demonstrates the ability to answer call lights in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Performs required documentation with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Performs all assigned duties adhering to schedules set for each resident, i.e. showers, baths, shampoos, etc.
  • Demonstrates the ability to make rounds every 2 hours, turning and repositioning residents, ensuring the resident, clothing and bedding is clean and dry.
  • Demonstrates the ability to deliver care based on identified needs and as directed by licensed staff.
  • Demonstrates the ability to report and communicate changes in resident condition to the charge nurse in a timely manner.
  • Serves as a preceptor for new personnel/assists in orientation of new personnel.
  • Demonstrates the ability to follow and adhere to all infection control procedures.
  • Performs any other duty as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

Must have CNA Certification
