Description
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all functions of the Human Resources and Communications departments while aligning people strategies with organizational objectives. This role serves as a strategic business partner to leadership by driving initiatives related to talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, compliance, organizational development, employee engagement, internal communications, and culture. This position requires a proactive, results-oriented leader who can balance strategic planning with hands-on execution in a fast-paced environment.
This is a safety-sensitive position.
Reports To: Chief Legal Officer
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee all functions of the Human Resources and Communications departments, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and business strategy.
- Provide leadership, coaching, mentorship, and professional development to HR and Communications team members while overseeing daily departmental workflow and priorities.
- Partner with executive leadership to develop and execute HR and communication strategies that support organizational growth, employee engagement, and operational effectiveness.
- Lead all core HR functions including talent acquisition, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, compensation, benefits administration, compliance, training and development, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Oversee full-cycle recruitment efforts, including workforce planning, sourcing strategies, structured interviewing processes, hiring initiatives, and onboarding programs to attract and retain top talent.
- Serve as a strategic business partner to leadership by providing guidance on employee relations matters, organizational design, workforce planning, conflict resolution, performance concerns, coaching, and corrective actions.
- Handle employee investigations, disciplinary actions, and terminations in accordance with company policy and applicable employment laws.
- Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, employee handbooks, and compliance practices to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment regulations.
- Manage and administer employee benefits, leave administration, wellness initiatives, and vendor partnerships while evaluating market competitiveness and recommending enhancements to remain an employer of choice.
- Analyze compensation and workforce trends to support the development of competitive pay structures, merit increase programs, and incentive plans.
- Lead organizational development and leadership training initiatives to strengthen employee performance, leadership effectiveness, and career development opportunities.
- Utilize HR metrics, employee feedback, engagement surveys, and workforce analytics to identify trends and drive data-informed business decisions.
- Oversee employee engagement, recognition, and culture-building initiatives that support a positive and high-performing work environment.
- Direct internal and external communications efforts, including employee communications, organizational announcements, employer branding initiatives, social media coordination, website content support, and company messaging.
- Collaborate with leadership to ensure communication strategies promote transparency, alignment, and engagement across the organization.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field of study required.
- SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or PHR/SPHR certification preferred.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in an HR leadership role, demonstrating success in delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of employment law, regulations, and HR best practices.
- Experience with Paylocity preferred.
- Experience in a Manufacturing environment preferred.
