Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with operational and business objectives.
  • Ensure critical mining equipment, consumables, and spare parts are available to support production targets.
  • Monitor and improve supply chain performance through KPIs and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage end-to-end supply chain processes including sourcing, purchasing, inventory control, warehousing, transportation, and distribution.
  • Oversee procurement activities for goods and services.
  • Lead supplier selection, tendering, evaluation, and contract negotiations.
  • Ensure procurement complies with company governance, ethical standards, and local regulations.
  • Manage supplier relationships and conduct performance reviews.
  • Develop effective relationships with supported functions, facilitating cross‑functional development.
  • Optimize inventory levels to balance operational availability and working capital.
  • Establish inventory control systems for critical spares and consumables.
  • Lead warehouse operations, ensuring proper storage, handling, and stock accuracy.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counts.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics activities.
  • Manage transportation of equipment, materials, explosives (where applicable), fuel, and other operational supplies.
  • Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and safety requirements.
  • Develop contingency plans to mitigate supply disruptions.
  • Lead and develop supply chain, procurement, warehouse, and logistics personnel.
  • Set performance objectives and conduct regular performance evaluations.
  • Mentor team members to build organizational capability.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets.
  • Monitor procurement spending and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
  • Analyze supply chain costs and recommend efficiency improvements.
  • Support capital projects through procurement and logistics planning.
  • Ensure compliance with mine safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
  • Promote safe work practices throughout supply chain operations.
  • Maintain compliance with relevant procurement and contract management standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, procurement, business administration, engineering, or related field.
  • 12–15 years of progressive supply chain experience with 3–5 years in a leadership or superintendent‑level role; experience in mining, oil and gas, or construction preferred.
  • Professional certifications (CSCP, CPSM, or CIPS) are advantageous.
  • Experience with SAP is an asset.
  • Competency with MS Office, including MS Project.
  • Strong time‑management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Detail‑oriented, customer‑service oriented, and proficient with related computer applications.
  • Demonstrated experience managing contracts, procurement, inventory, warehousing, and logistics functions.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication (written and oral), and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills, with focus on task completion.
  • Good work ethic and a strong attitude toward safety.
