As the Packaging Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing the supply of packaging materials to support the business. You will work closely with suppliers and internal teams to ensure packaging requirements are met in terms of quality, cost, and availability. The role involves building strong supplier relationships, identifying cost‑saving opportunities, and ensuring a consistent supply of packaging materials to support business success.

• Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with suppliers to achieve the best commercial outcomes.
• Manage supplier relationships and conduct regular performance reviews to ensure service, quality, and delivery standards are maintained.
• Work with Quality, Supply Chain and Marketing teams to meet business needs.
• Monitor market trends to support strategic sourcing decisions
• Ensure continuity of supply by managing supplier risks, forecasting requirements, and developing contingency plans
• Raise and manage purchase orders, ensuring accurate pricing, specifications, and delivery schedules
• Ensure all packaging materials comply with relevant legislation, customer requirements, and quality standards
• Resolve supplier, quality, and supply issues in a timely and effective manner
• Maintain accurate records of supplier agreements, product specifications, and procurement activities

• Previous purchasing or buying packaging experience, preferably within an FMCG environment
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Highly organised and detail oriented
• Ability to work cross functionally
• Results-driven with excellent problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Commercially aware with excellent analytical abilities
• Experience managing multiple projects and priorities
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems
• Full UK driving Licence

• Experience with in the pet industry
