Duties

Supervise multiple nursery farm sites and related personnel including day-to-day tasks of the farm, ensuring production targets are met, and supervising farm employees. Plan, direct, and coordinate day to day farm activities and staff to ensure all daily and weekly production targets are met. Train employees on day-to-day processes and procedures, develop a competent workforce by utilizing hands‑on training methods, providing constructive and timely feedback, and offering opportunities for individual growth.

Perform audits of the farm to ensure all standard operating procedures are being followed and facilities are in good working condition. Maintain accurate records and reports of animals, personnel, and supplies on the farm. Perform health assessment/hot list, working with vet staff to ensure timing and correct medication. Ensure health and safety of employees and animals at the facility, submit detailed reports, and track feed and ration staging for animals.

Manage all controllable costs, including supplies, labor, medication, etc. Create and manage employee work schedules. No hire/fire authority.

Requirements
  • Two years of swine production experience.
  • Experience overseeing daily swine farm operations and directing the work of farm personnel.
  • Experience following detailed standard operating procedures.
  • Experience training employees on day-to-day processes and developing a competent workforce.
  • Experience ensuring required biosecurity protocols are followed.
  • Experience maintaining animal welfare and the environment.
  • Experience performing audits to ensure that standard operating procedures are being followed and facilities are in good working condition.
  • Experience maintaining accurate records and reports of animals, personnel, and supplies.
  • Experience creating and managing employee work schedules and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Experience submitting orders for farm supplies and maintenance needs.
  • Experience writing routine reports and correspondence.
  • Experience managing animal caretakers.
  • Good communication skills in English.
  • Daily travel required to local farms.
