Aboutthe Role
Manage the operational second shift activities for all facilities operations. Demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes to the team as well as across the functional departments. Plan and develop systems to improve operating quality, efficiency, and safety of the operation. Utilize expertise to solve problems, develop, communicate, and execute objectives to ensure project goals are achieved. Provide leadership, coaching, motivation, training, and development of workforce.
Lead staff in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Responsible for all operational activities, on 2nd shift, within the facilities.
- Plan and develop systems and procedures to improve the quality and efficiency of the facilities.
- Use Lean manufacturing principles to develop solutions to reduce or optimize operational cost.
- Supervise team in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Participate in hiring and orientation of new 2nd shift team members.
- Implement established internal goals and metrics as well as meeting those provided to you.
- Coach and provide career development and training for teams.
- Effectively and professionally communicate with all areas within the company as well as the customers.
- Schedule and conduct meetings at all facilities, as necessary.
- Ensure projects are completed on time and on budget while meeting and exceeding customer expectations.
- Provide all business reporting as required in a timely manner.
- Effectively manage relationships with all customers, team members, and company leaders as required.
- Maintains strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
- All other duties as required.
- Associate degree or bachelor’s degree or 4 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Must have previous supervisory experience with strong leadership skills.
- Six Sigma and/or Lean manufacturing experience.
- Demonstrated record of driving improvements in key quality metrics.
- Computer literacy and familiarity with MS Office, ERP systems, and other computer programs.
- Applies critical and appropriate judgment – decision making, strategic thinking, and creativity and innovation.
- Works to build trust and supportive relationships – communication, listening, influence and negotiation.
- Maintains a high level of competency – leadership, safety, talent acquisition and development.
- Internal and External Customer Awareness – company policies, external customer needs and formal organizational structure.
