Store Manager Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service.
- Direct and supervise employees engaged in sales, inventory taking, reconciling cash receipts, or in performing services for customers.
- Monitor sales activities to ensure that customers receive satisfactory service and quality goods, calling on and visiting customers as required by the needs of the business or assigned by your District Manager.
- Generate new sales accounts by cold calling and visiting potential customers.
- Grow store profits with current customers by suggesting new products and promotions.
- Maintain and submit call logs as required by the District Manager.
- Accurately inventory, stock, and reorder when inventory drops to a specified level.
- Instruct staff on how to handle difficult and complicated sales.
- Assign employees to specific duties.
- Hire, train, and evaluate personnel in stores, promoting, disciplining, and terminating workers when appropriate.
- Ensure responsiveness to requests and compliance with company policies.
- Run the store in compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Perform work activities of subordinates, such as cleaning and organizing shelves and displays and selling merchandise.
- Attend virtual and in‑person meetings and training sessions.

Directly supervises 2–25 employees in the store. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QualificationsEducation and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); at least 2 years of auto parts experience; management experience preferred; ASE certifications preferred.
Language SkillsAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
