Large Format Digital Press Operator

Overview

The Large Format Digital Print Operator is responsible for operating equipment, pre-press with some graphic design and finishing assistance. Since this position serves as a liaison between customers and our production team, excellent customer service skills are necessary. This is a fast-paced environment, and the scope of work includes: clarifying product details, establishing priorities, expediting production workflow, ordering required materials and completing maintenance and troubleshooting for equipment (EFI Pro 30f, Vutek h5, and Colex Sharpcut SXX
1732). Excellent problem-solving skills are necessary, as is the ability to meet deadlines and share knowledge on techniques and processes. This position has no supervisory responsibilities, however, there is a close working relationship with the staff in several departments to ensure that all details are fulfilled as shown on customer s order.

• The Large Format Digital Print Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining wide format printing equipment to produce high-quality prints and graphics
• The Large Format Digital Print Operator will collaborate with our design and production teams to ensure timely and accurate completion of projects
• Know and comply with all safety features and safety rules
• Show and demonstrate a quality-conscious attitude
• Demonstrated good housekeeping skills
• Prepares files for printing
• Operates and maintains large format printer to the fullest extent of output capabilities
• Proactively work with maintenance, supervision and other large format employees to ensure optimum machine maintenance and efficiency
• Evaluate output and make adjustments to obtain a desired level of image quality
• Troubleshoots problems that occur during job submission or the printing process
• Able to understand and execute custom finishing requirements
• Able to effectively operate a CNC cutter / router and keen cut tools
• Monitors and manages material usage to allocated quantities
• Computer literate

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Large Format Digital Print Operator
• Proficiency in Firey and Adobe Suite
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Strong interpersonal skills with a willingness to engage frequently with peers
• Basic math and unit conversion skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment, with strong multitasking skills.

• High School diploma required, associate degree preferred
• Experience with Large Format Printers is a must
• Experience working with graphics
• Previous work experience in the field or in a related area
• Experience with Adobe Suite and other graphics programs.
• Computer Skills to include Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Fiery
• Able to work a flexible schedule
• Willingness to follow processes, safety standards and policies
