Description

Reporting to the Department Manager, the Parts Coordinator is responsible for coordination duties related to preventative maintenance, parts, documentation and overall maintenance department operations. Ensures continued availability and requisition of all required parts while assisting in the continuous improvement of the preventative maintenance program.

Essential Functions
  • Adhere to health and safety policies, GMPs, and wear required PPE in warehouse or production areas.
  • Maintain food quality and safety as per standards (e.g., SQF).
  • Process all incoming parts requisitions in SAP with Maintenance Manager and Mechanics.
  • Develop subject‑matter expertise on CMMS utilization and maintenance parts.
  • Collaborate with plant groups, suppliers, OEMs, contractors, and internal/external auditors.
  • Support continuous improvement activities related to safety, quality, and cost.
  • Maintain 100% accountability of parts room: receive, sort, catalogue, and store all parts in an orderly manner.
  • Maintain inventory at designated min/max levels and accurate records of parts location.
  • Submit orders to PO writer for all parts, verifying quality, quantity, and documentation.
  • Assist with new and upcoming projects requiring parts and communicate delivery status.
  • Prepare kits (kitting) for planned project work.
  • Monitor daily, weekly, and yearly preventive maintenance programs and maintain filing system for maintenance documents and records.
Required Skills
  • Experience in food/beverage manufacturing (preferred).
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, SAP, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work within a budget.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and customer focus.
  • Strong prioritization and multi‑tasking skills with attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working independently and showing initiative.
  • Mechanical aptitude: knowledge of mechanical systems, machinery, and tools.
  • Preventive maintenance familiarity.
  • Critical thinking and problem‑solving ability.
  • Effective communication with team members, supervisors, and departments.
  • Ownership mindset and teamwork.
  • Record keeping proficiency.
Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required; business administration or related degree preferred. Minimum 3 years maintenance parts room experience preferred.

Working Conditions

Work schedule may include weekdays, weekends, afternoon, evening, overnight, and holidays; overtime may be scheduled as needed.

Environment is a fast‑paced production plant with numerous moving parts. Noise levels require hearing protection; temperatures can be hot or cold. Structured and supervised environment with clear targets and schedules.

Travel Requirements

Travel anticipated:
Rarely.

Physical Requirements

Stand or sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl; carry weight and lift; walking; driving; climb stairs/ladders. Visual/sensory attention to detail; dexterity; mental stress from deadlines. Rarely to Frequently as applicable.
