Structure Grinder

Location: Catoosa

POSITION SUMMARY

This role ensures that welds meet cosmetic and dimensional standards and that parts are ready for further processing, inspection, or shipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

• Operate hand grinders, belt sanders, and other finishing tools to clean and smooth welded joints
• Remove weld spatter, burrs, and surface imperfections from metal parts
• Inspect finished surfaces for quality and conformance to specifications
• Read and follow work instructions, blueprints, and weld symbols
• Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition
• Follow safety protocols andwear appropriate PPE at all times
• Support welders by preparing surfaces for welding and post-weld finishing
• Keep work area clean and organized, adhering to 5S and lean practices
• Report defects or equipment issues to supervisors promptly
• Assist with material handling and staging of parts as needed

REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES)

• Familiarity with grinding tools and finishing techniques
• Ability to read basic technical drawings and instructions
• Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (required levels)

• High school diploma or GED
• 1-3 years of experience in metal grinding, fabrication, or welding support
