The Production Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating manufacturing equipment to produce high-quality food products. This role ensures all products meet company standards, customer expectations, and regulatory requirements while supporting daily production goals in a safe and clean work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Operate production and packaging equipment following standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Set up, monitor, and adjust machinery to maintain product quality and efficiency
- Perform routine quality checks and accurately document results
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), HACCP guidelines, and all food safety and sanitation requirements
- Complete production, downtime, safety, and sanitation documentation
- Identify and report equipment issues, product defects, and safety concerns
- Assist with equipment changeovers, basic troubleshooting, and routine cleaning
- Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the shift
- Adhere to all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements
- Collaborate with team members, maintenance, and quality teams to meet production goals
- Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Basic math, reading, and documentation skills
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn equipment operation
- Team-oriented with strong communication skills
Safety-focused with a high level of accountability - Reliable, punctual, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
- Prior food manufacturing experience
- Must be 18 years of or older
- High school diploma or GED required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Physical: ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs throughout the shift
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts on a rotating schedule
- Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, and exposure to food allergens
