Location: Harrah

Responsible for the day‑to‑day operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the Power Generation facility, including equipment such as pumps, fans, compressors, filters, water treatment systems, combustion turbines, and generators.

LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY
  • Responsibilities are varied and complex, often extending beyond the assigned duties.

  • Resolves complex issues impacting business operations inside and outside the own department.
  • Makes unreviewed decisions related to the area of responsibilities.
  • Opinions carry significant weight in policy and strategy decisions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Operate the plant from the Control Room and Auxiliaries, perform all facets of plant maintenance (electrical and mechanical) without supervision.
  • Act as Operating Authority.
  • Lead and fill in for upper management as needed.
  • Serve as subject matter expert and coach less experienced team members.
  • Direct activities of contractors and vendors as needed.
  • Provide technical management for Plant, I&C, and PLC/DCS projects.
  • Evaluate project progress and manpower performance (internal and external) and report to supervisor or project manager.
  • Provide expert feedback and actively participate in the RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance) process.
  • Monitor, operate and check equipment; identify abnormal operations; take corrective action or initiate repair requests.
  • Monitor, analyze, and perform water chemistry tests.
  • Keep logs, record data, and verbally communicate plant conditions.
  • Utilize SAP/PM system for equipment history and verification of work performed.
  • Create templates and execute clearance procedures.
  • Follow all safety and environmental rules and regulations.
  • Repair, inspect and maintain plant auxiliaries, turbine/generator auxiliaries, fuel supply equipment, and CEMS system.
  • Perform general craft tasks, operate various industrial equipment, and use power hand tools.
  • Read and interpret drawings and prints.
  • Continuously seek process improvement to save cost and increase efficiency.
  • Develop testing procedures and forms for process instruments and safety systems for PM and compliance.
  • Make technical decisions concerning maintenance and repair of critical instrument electrical systems such as DCS, PLC, field devices, motors, cables, SWGR and MCCs.
  • Act as a technical resource to operations personnel and lower technician positions.
  • Assist in technical management of new and existing assets as directed by supervisor.
  • Design and install new equipment and system modifications.
  • Actively participate in budget preparation.
  • Assist in maintaining and controlling spare parts inventory.
  • Maintain various databases and effectively use standard software packages.
  • Effectively and efficiently troubleshoot and maintain all AC/DC control circuits and components.
  • Read, interpret, and utilize all plant drawings for daily operations and maintenance activities.
  • All other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Associate's Degree in a mechanical or technical discipline and 7 years of experience in a mechanical or technical field; or
  • High School Diploma/GED and 9 years of experience in a mechanical or technical field; or
  • High School Diploma/GED, prior military experience for at least one enlistment (DD Form 214 documented), and 8 years of experience in a mechanical or technical field; or
  • High School Diploma/GED, 3 direct plant experience at the same Power Plant with 1 year as Control Room Operator and approval of Plant Management.
  • A certificate of completion from a vocational trade institution in a mechanical or technical field is equivalent to 1 year of mechanical or technical experience.
  • Experience must include 5 years in a power plant or other process‑controlled environment (oil/gas/chemical refining and/or processing or manufacturing).

  • GE MarkVI Experience
  • 10 years Combined Cycle Experience
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • May work under hazardous conditions where physical danger exists due to mechanical equipment.
  • May be required to work overtime, weekends, and holidays.
