Job Description

The Quality Supervisor supports manufacturing operations by ensuring product quality standards are met through inspection, testing, and documentation. This entry‑level role plays a key part in driving continuous improvement through Operational Excellence principles, including Standard Work, 5S, and structured problem solving.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform in-process and final inspections to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
  • Document and report non-conformances; assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Maintain and audit Standard Work procedures to ensure consistency and effectiveness.
  • Support implementation and sustainment of 5S in work areas to promote safety, efficiency, and visual control.
  • Participate in problem‑solving activities using tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, and PDCA.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Assist in training operators in quality standards and inspection techniques.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and audits.
  • Support internal and external audits as needed.
  • Collect, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to track progress and identify new opportunities for improvement.
  • Help drive a culture of continuous improvement and assist teams in adapting to new processes and systems.
  • Evaluate existing processes to identify waste and inefficiencies and implement countermeasures using operational excellence tools.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
  • 2–4 years of experience in a manufacturing or quality role.
  • Familiarity with Operational Excellence manufacturing principles, including 5S, problem solving, and Standard Work.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic data entry.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with ISO 9001 or other quality management systems.
  • Knowledge of measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges.
  • Exposure to SPC (Statistical Process Control) and basic data analysis.
