Mining Mill Manager

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety, quality, production, and housekeeping standards are met at all times.
• Plan and schedule workload, production, and quality control activities.
• Lead root cause analysis efforts to identify and correct root causes of events.
• Accurately and timely prepare required reports and maintain accurate data and records.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings using Lean Manufacturing principles, continuous improvement, and problem‑solving techniques.
• Ensure equipment is operated safely and correctly, with good preventative maintenance.
• Maintain customer expectations and communicate with customers at all times.
• Ensure efficient operation of primary and secondary crushing plants.
• Ensure operators are appropriately trained and uphold SGI standards.
• Monitor and manage production KPIs; develop and implement operational improvements.
• Develop and improve assigned production personnel skills for future career opportunities; perform employee reviews and disciplinary actions.

• Technical knowledge/skills (Operations Planning and Scheduling, Manufacturing and Process Engineering, M&I flow, standard operations, plant layout, waste elimination, engineering change control)
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems

• Problem identification and analysis skills with ability to implement root‑cause solutions quickly and effectively

• Experience in supply chain management, expediting, lead‑time reduction, inventory management, packaging, and shipping

• Six Sigma knowledge or Green Belt/Black Belt certification.

• Proficient in supply chain management, expediting, lead‑time reduction, inventory management, packaging, and shipping.

Bachelor's degree required – Engineering or Sciences (preferred).10+ years experience in heavy industrial manufacturing or 5+ years mining experience.

Work is performed in enclosed facilities and outdoor areas where extremes of heat, cold, dust, noise, wet conditions, and rough terrain exist. Up to 50% of the work is administrative in nature.

Prolonged sitting/standing, lifting objects up to 50 lbs, extended regular hours, bending, climbing, kneeling, stooping.
