Welding Position
Purpose Statement:
Welding various sheet metals using MIG, TIG, brazing and/or soldering process. Welding assignments include preparation and set-up and involve critical alignment and tolerances. Welding may include varying metal thickness with dissimilar melting temperatures. Welding is performed to specified welding procedure specifications to meet engineering drawing requirements. Knowledge and
Skills:
(Minimum education, training, skills and experience) Must have the ability to safely set-up and weld various metals of various thickness using MIG and/or TIG as required. Must be able to pass welding tests required by CCL. Responsibilities may include grinding, tapping, and buffing. Must also be able to perform various inspection functions utilizing inspection tools (such as tape measure, calipers and protractor) and read and understand prints, finish specifications, bills of material, routers, and work instructions.
Must provide structurally sound, cosmetically acceptable product.
