3G Vessel Welder (Direct Hire – Pressure Vessel Fabrication)

Pay: $26–$29/hour minimum

Must Have Requirements
  • Must be able to pass an open root 3G MIG/Flux Core fill and cap weld test
  • Minimum 2 years welding experience required
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and work orders
  • Strong understanding of volts, amps, and welding machine adjustments
  • Ability to pass weld inspection and detect defects
  • Intermediate math skills and ability to read a tape measure accurately
  • Basic safety training knowledge and commitment to safety compliance
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Position Summary
  • Set up and operate advanced welding equipment for pressure vessel fabrication
  • Perform high-quality welds that meet strict production and safety standards
  • Repair defective welds and reduce scrap, rework, and downtime
  • Ensure all work meets specification and quality expectations in a production environment
  • Support continuous improvement and efficiency in welding processes
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Plan welding procedures and work steps for assigned jobs
  • Set up, operate, and adjust welding machines as needed
  • Perform 3G open root MIG/Flux Core welding with fill and cap passes
  • Inspect finished welds for quality, completeness, and compliance
  • Troubleshoot welding equipment and make necessary adjustments
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures at all times
  • Maintain production output and meet expected job standards
  • Clock into production jobs and track work accurately
  • Communicate with supervisors and other departments as needed
  • Participate in process improvement and efficiency initiatives
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Additional Qualifications
  • Experience in pressure vessel or heavy fabrication welding preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Experience in high-quality, code-driven welding environments (ASME a plus)
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
