Job Title
Relief Operator
Job DescriptionRelief Operator operates multiple production units, monitor control systems, and troubleshoots basic process issues with limited supervision.
ResponsibilitiesOperate, monitor, and adjust plant machinery and control systems to ensure optimal performance.
Analyze data from control systems and instrumentation to detect abnormal conditions.
Perform routine and advanced troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, or process systems.
Lead or assist in the start-up and shutdown procedures of plant units.
Maintain accurate logs, records, and reports of operations, maintenance, and safety incidents.
Ensure compliance with all operational, environmental, and safety standards.
Supervise or mentor Plant Operator I staff during shift operations.
Coordinate with maintenance, engineering, and quality teams for repairs or adjustments.
Participate in safety meetings, audits, and drills.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and energy savings.
Additional duties as assigned.
QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required; technical diploma or associate degree preferred.
Minimum 3-5 years of plant operations experience in a similar industry (e.g., power, chemical, manufacturing, water treatment).
High level of safety and quality.
Ability to multi-task at a fast-pace (at times), work in outside conditions during all seasons, climb multi-levels by stairs & ladders, work from elevated platforms, use hand tools (shovel, hammer, wrenches, etc.)
Good problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in operating control systems (SCADA, PLC, DCS).
Strong mechanical and/or electrical aptitude.
Working knowledge of industry regulations and safety standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA, ISO).
Basic computer literacy for reporting and data entry.
