Production Supervisor - Machining

Established in 1982, our organization specializes in precision manufacturing with a primary focus on the defense and aerospace sectors for the U.S. government. Based in Grove, Oklahoma, our facility employs roughly 50 professionals and oversees a portfolio of approximately 300 active government contracts. Your Impact

We are seeking a dedicated Machining Supervisor to oversee our CNC production operations. In this role, you will guide a team of about 20 CNC operators, focusing on coaching, performance accountability, and training. Beyond technical CNC expertise, we need a leader who can effectively manage schedules, priorities, and operational scaling. As our facility grows, this position offers significant potential for expanded oversight across assembly and sheet metal departments, as well as the possibility of managing additional shifts.

Schedule

• The standard work week consists of four 10-hour days.
• Supervisors are expected to participate in a rotating Friday morning coverage schedule.
• Additional hours may be necessary to ensure production targets are met.
• This is a salaried position requiring a commitment of at least 45 hours weekly.

Core Responsibilities

• Oversee daily CNC machining tasks while coordinating efforts with the tool room, assembly, and manual machining departments.
• Facilitate regular production meetings to keep the team aligned on daily and weekly objectives.
• Organize workflows to ensure that customer delivery timelines and production schedules are successfully met.
• Foster professional growth by providing consistent training, feedback, and clear performance expectations to staff.
• Analyze departmental metrics to help drive improvements in overall quality, productivity, and efficiency.
• Take proactive steps to minimize waste, scrap, and other operational inefficiencies to improve our bottom line.
• Verify that parts meet specifications by conducting spot checks and utilizing various inspection and gauging tools.
• Identify and resolve technical machine or process challenges by coordinating with maintenance and management.
• Collaborate with the Engineering department to address production hurdles and achieve key business goals.
• Propose and execute enhancements to existing manufacturing methods, processes, and controls.
• Contribute to cost reduction and quality improvement initiatives through detailed product and process analysis.
• Lead the manufacturing launch of new products by setting goals, training personnel, and assessing outcomes.
• Maintain control over multiple concurrent projects and shifting priorities.
• Help maintain a safe working environment for the entire team by promoting a strong culture of safety.
• Complete additional tasks as directed by leadership.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of manufacturing experience, including a minimum of five years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
• Proven background in a Lead or Supervisor role within a manufacturing setting.
• Technical proficiency with CNC lathes, mills, and multi-axis equipment, including 5-axis systems.
• Strong ability to interpret complex blueprints.
• Comprehensive understanding of machining processes, materials, fixtures, and tooling.
• Demonstrated ability to verify part quality using various gauging and inspection instruments.
• Strong mathematical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with computer systems and standard Microsoft software applications.
• A track record of maintaining high work standards and active team participation.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lead others independently with minimal oversight.
• Prior experience in the defense or aerospace manufacturing industry is highly desirable.
