Fabrication Department Supervisor

Job Summary:

The Fabrication Supervisor will oversee the fabrication operations within the manufacturing facility, ensuring the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and safety. This role involves managing a team of plasma table and brake press operators, coordinating projects, and collaborating with other departments to meet production goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervision:
Lead and manage a team of plasma table and brake press operators, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.

Quality Control:
Ensure all processes meet industry standards and specifications. Conduct regular inspections and audits of quality.

Safety Compliance:
Promote a safe work environment by enforcing safety protocols and conducting safety training for team members.

Production Planning:
Collaborate with the production manager / plant manager to schedule and prioritize projects based on production timelines.

Process Improvement:
Identify and implement improvements to processes and techniques to enhance efficiency and reduce waste using Lean principles.

Equipment Maintenance:
Ensure that equipment is properly maintained and serviced regularly.

Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of department operations, including production reports, quality inspections, and employee performance.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training preferred.

- Proven experience in machine operation, with at least two years in a supervisory role.

- Strong knowledge of machine techniques, materials, and equipment.

- Excellent leadership and communication skills.

- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise and fumes.
