Manufacturing, The Steel Plate Roll Operator is responsible for operating plate rolling equipment to form steel plates into cylindrical or curved shapes according to specifications. This position also requires the ability to perform basic stick welding as part of fit-up, tacking, or repair work. Attention to detail, safe equipment operation, and the ability to work in an industrial manufacturing environment are required.

• Operate plate rolling machines to roll steel plate to required diameters and tolerances
• Set up machines, including adjusting rolls, guides, and controls
• Perform stick welding (SMAW) for tacking, fitting, or minor weld repairs as required
• Monitor rolling process and adjust maintain quality
• Inspect finished parts for size, shape, and surface defects
• Perform basic machine maintenance and report mechanical issues
• Follow all safety rules, procedures, and company policies
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Work closely with supervisors and other shop personnel to meet production requirements
• Perform other general labor duties as assigned.

• Previous experience operating steel plate roll equipment preferred or willingness to be trained
• Ability to perform stick welding (SMAW) or willingness to be trained
• Ability to read tape measures and use basic measuring tools
• Basic mechanical aptitude
• Ability to follow instructions and work with minimal supervision
• Strong commitment to workplace safety

• Manufacturing/shop environment
• Shop is not climate controlled and may be exposed to heat, cold, dust, noise, and fumes
• Exposure to moving machinery, welding arcs, and heavy materials

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
• Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and climbing
• Ability to use hands for gripping, handling materials, welding tools, and operating controls
• Visual acuity to inspect materials and read measurements
