here at the oklahoma forensic center, the nursing department is hiring licensed practical nurses that will provide direct care for consumers of behavioral health treatment in an inpatient setting under the supervision or direction of a registered nurse or licensed physician. Responsibilities include participating in the evaluation of responses to interventions, taking temperatures, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, assessing, reporting and recording health status of consumers, developing and implementing appropriate aspects of a plan of care, administering medications as ordered, reporting appropriate consumer information to supervisor or appropriate health team member, and serving as a charge nurse on the unit.
minimumqualifications and experience
- level iii: possession of a valid permanent oklahoma license as a licensed practical nurse as approved by the oklahoma board of nursing plus two years of practical nursing experience; or licensed practical nurse license recognized by the enhanced nurse licensure compact (enlc) plus two years of practical nursing experience.
- level ii: possession of a valid permanent oklahoma license as a licensed practical nurse as approved by the oklahoma board of nursing plus one year of practical nursing experience; or licensed practical nurse license recognized by the enhanced nurse licensure compact (enlc) plus one year of practical nursing experience.
- level i: possession of a valid permanent oklahoma license as a licensed practical nurse as approved by the oklahoma board of nursing or licensed practical nurse license recognized by the enhanced nurse licensure compact (enlc).
- applicant must be able to pass an osbi background check.
- applicants must be willing and able to fulfill any job‑related travel normally associated with this position and have a valid driver’s license.
- upon a conditional offer of employment, applicants must submit to a physical examination and meet the physical examination requirements of occasionally lifting/carrying 50 pounds and able to push and pull a maximum force of 25 pounds.

this agency requires coverage 24 hours, 7 days per week. Work hours and location may vary depending on business necessity. Employees may be required to work weekends and overtime.
