Summary
Direct nursing care for patients and supervise day‑to‑day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants. Provide supervision in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and directives from the Administrator, Medical Director, and Director of Nursing Services to ensure appropriate patient care.
Attendance RequirementsNon‑exempt status. May be required to work beyond normal hours, including weekends and holidays. Subject to callback during emergencies.

Nursing degree from an accredited college or university, or a graduate of an approved LPN program with primary source verification.
Licensure Requirements- Current LPN license in the State of Georgia.
- American Heart Association BLS CPR certification.
- Preferred experience in nursing administration.
- Proficiency with oxygen equipment, suction machines, manual respirators, whirlpool, scales, glucose monitoring, electronic thermometers, medication delivery, insulin administration, PRN medication, topical treatments, narcotic medication, sterile dressings, pressure reduction surfaces, oral airway, isolation procedures, PPE, enemas, catheter care, tube feeding, IV implementation, seizure precautions, admissions, discharges, and transfers.
- Knowledge of lab specimen collection, results interpretation, and documentation and billing of supplies.
- Strong communication with attending physicians, coordination of care planning, MDS processes, and committee meetings.
- Take and record vital signs, chart patient progress, and administer medications.
- Assist physicians during rounds and perform physical assessments under RN direction.
- Prepare medication carts, support patient transfers, and perform treatment as directed.
- Use the telephone for physician communication and family coordination.
- Assist in patient feeding, lab draw, and collection of specimens.
- Collaborate with the Director of Nursing Services on personnel planning, supervisory skills, reporting, supply management, and compliance audits.
- Participate in nursing center inspections, performance improvement, and continuing education.
- Ensure privacy, security, and compliance with corporate programs.
- Participate in licensing and JCAHO surveys and subsequent reporting.
- Manage performance improvement and quality assurance activities.
- Attend mandatory in‑services and continuing education to maintain licensure.
- Report occupational hazards and enforce safety regulations.
- Maintain privacy and security programs.
Physical Requirements
- Lift up to 40 lbs. frequently during patient transfers.
- Carry objects up to 25 lbs. during inventory and charting tasks.
- Reach above shoulder height when administering medication or taking vital signs.
- Push/pull 20 feet to move equipment.
- Perform hand manipulation for documentation and equipment handling.
- Use equipment such as blood pressure gauges, thermometers, stethoscopes, Hoyer lifts, and IV pumps.
- Ability to work in a high‑pace nursing center.
- Strong verbal communication and ability to give and follow instructions.
- Capacity to tolerate prolonged standing, walking, and physical demands.
