Job Summary

Part time, 7 p.m. – 7 a.m., 28‑bed post‑surgical unit, Magnet Designated (with Distinction). Paulding campus – sign‑on bonus eligible. New graduates with 0‑6 months experience, RN Residency requirements available.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions
  • Exemplary Practice and Outcomes
    • A. Performs the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation and evaluation) using evidence‑based practice, analytical/critical thinking and individualized care;
    • B. Provides relationship‑based, patient‑centered care consistent with population characteristics and cultural diversity;
    • C. Partners with patients and significant others using appropriate methods (bedside shift reports, interdisciplinary rounds, just‑in‑time and planned patient teaching) to keep patient goals central to the plan of care;
    • D. Practices using current clinical practice standards.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration
    • A. Coordinates safe, quality patient care delivery and documentation, promoting a professional care delivery model; includes interdisciplinary communication (rounds, case review) and timely documentation;
    • B. Demonstrates teamwork by practicing fiscally responsibly and supporting recruitment and retention of all team members;
    • C. Participates in performance improvement, research utilization, and promotes shared governance throughout the system.
  • Professional Development and Initiative
    • A. Completes all initial and ongoing competency assessments and required education, including population‑specific training;
    • B. Serves as preceptor/mentor for nurses, staff, and students of all disciplines to maintain a qualified workforce and model professional practice.
  • Evidence Based Practice and Research
    • A. Promotes evidence‑based practice, nursing research and performance improvement; participates in value analysis for patient‑care product decisions;
    • B. Upholds system policies, procedural and competency standards, including legal, regulatory and accreditation requirements such as TJC Patient Safety Goals;
    • C. Engages in data collection, formulates clinical questions, and consults experts to apply evidence in practice.
  • Resources and Support
    • A. Plans patient care across the continuum while delivering direct care;
    • B. Contributes to protocol and procedure development to achieve best practice outcomes (e.g., reduce readmissions, avoidable days, adverse events);
    • C. Supports efficient use of human and material resources and performs other assigned duties.
  • Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and codes of conduct.
Required

Minimum Education
  • Associate’s Nursing or Diploma (RN)
  • Bachelor’s Nursing – Preferred
Required Minimum Licences and Certifications
  • RN – Registered Nurse (Single State) or RN‑COMPACT – Multi‑state Compact
  • BLS – Basic Life Support or ARC‑BLS (American Red Cross Basic Life Support) or BLS‑I (Instructor)
Additional License(s) and Certification(s)
  • Minimum 2 years direct patient‑care nursing experience
Required Minimum Skills
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Proficient use of technology to support clinical care; basic computer skills
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills with customer‑service orientation
  • Ability to function in a fast‑paced environment and respond to emergencies with decisiveness, composure, and respect
  • Excellent time‑management and critical‑thinking skills; evidence‑based practice experience
