Job Description The Coordinating Nurse – RN III provides professional nursing services at the Registered Nurse Level III within the Custer County Health Department clinic. The role includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care, education, and leadership responsibilities.
- Assess the health status of individuals, families, and communities.
- Develop and implement nursing interventions and care plans.
- Evaluate and determine necessary health resources to meet individual, family, and community needs.
- Deliver professional nursing care in clinic, home, or other settings.
- Educate patients, families, and community members on disease prevention and health promotion.
- Supervise other professional or paraprofessional personnel and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.
- Delegate tasks appropriately under the Oklahoma Nursing Practice Act.
- Ensure quality of care through record review, peer review, and direct observation.
- Perform specialized nursing functions as educationally prepared.
- Maintain presence at the office as an essential function of the job.
- Demonstrate knowledge of mission, vision, values, standards, policies, procedures, confidentiality, and ethical guidelines.
- Work effectively within a team environment and support peers.
- Travel as required for the position and maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
- Valid, permanent Oklahoma Registered Nurse license approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing or recognized by the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
- Background check clearance.
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities- Proficiency in professional nursing practices, health promotion, and disease prevention.
- Ability to conduct assessments and perform nursing functions acquired during basic nursing training.
- Understanding of nursing theory, practices, and techniques.
- Knowledge of nutrition, diet therapy, and clinical department functions.
- Ability to develop, organize, and implement effective nursing care plans and provide education and training.
- Knowledge of available health programs, federal and state regulations, accreditation, and licensing standards.
- Strong instructional methods, nursing standards, and procedural knowledge.
- Physical ability to talk, stand, walk, reach, sit for long periods, and use computers and phones.
- Willingness to complete all required travel associated with the position.
Typical office setting with moderate noise levels; long periods of sitting; daily use of computers and phones; capacity to stand, walk, and maintain ergonomic posture.
