Location: Vinita

Overview

Nurse Coordinator for the Oklahoma Forensic Center (OFC) within the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS). The OFC is a 24/7 secure inpatient facility providing jail competency services in Vinita, OK. The Nursing department seeks a Nurse Coordinator to assist in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating psychiatric nursing programs, with twenty-four hour responsibility for the nursing component of the facility.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating psychiatric nursing programs.
  • Provide twenty-four hour responsibility for the nursing component of the facility.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care and compliance with regulations.
  • Support nursing staff through supervision and consultation in specialized fields or programs.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
  • Possession of a valid permanent Oklahoma registered nurse license as approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing, or a Registered Nurse License recognized by the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
  • Four years of professional nursing experience, with two years in a supervisory capacity and one additional year in a managerial/consultative capacity or providing consultation and educational services in a specialized field or program; or two additional years of professional nursing experience in an administrative capacity.
  • Or a bachelor’s degree in nursing with three years of professional nursing experience, two years of supervisory experience, and one additional year in a managerial/consultative capacity or providing consultation and educational services in a specialized field or program plus two additional years in an administrative capacity.
  • Or a master’s degree with two years of professional nursing experience in a supervisory capacity and one additional year in a managerial/consultative capacity or providing consultation and educational services in a specialized field or program plus two additional years in an administrative capacity.
Special Requirements
  • Applicant must be able to pass an OSBI background check.
  • Willingness and ability to fulfill job-related travel and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Upon conditional offer, must undergo physical examination with lifting/carrying requirements (occasionally 50 pounds) and ability to push/pull up to 25 pounds.
