Position: RN/LPN Charge Nurse - FT Nights - 16-Bed Short Term Rehab Unit - Quinton Memorial Health and Rehab
Location: Quinton

Job Summary

Directs nursing care for patients and supervises day‑to‑day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants. Supervision is in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and may be directed by the Administrator, Medical Director, and/or Director of Nursing Services to provide appropriate care for patients. Eligible for a $5,000 sign‑on bonus.

Attendance Requirements

Non‑exempt status may require work beyond normal hours, including weekends and holidays. Employees may be called back during emergencies.

Reporting

Reports to the Director of Nursing Services.

Education & Licensure Requirements
  • Nursing degree from an accredited college or university, or completion of an approved LPN program verified by primary source.
  • Current LPN or RN license in the State of Georgia.
  • American Heart Association BLS CPR certification required.
Training, Skills and Experience

Preferred experience in nursing administration.

Physical Requirements
  • Lifting up to 10 lbs: rarely required.
  • Lifting 11–25 lbs: rarely during stocking supplies.
  • Lifting 26–40 lbs: not required.
  • Lifting over 40 lbs: frequently when assisting in patient transfer; may use a Hoyer lift.
  • Carrying up to 10 lbs: rarely required.
  • Carrying 11–25 lbs: rarely during stocking supplies.
  • Carrying 26–40 lbs: not required.
  • Carrying over 40 lbs: not required.
  • Reach above shoulder height: 4 ft.
  • Reach at shoulder height: constantly for medication administration and vital signs.
  • Reach below shoulder height: occasionally for bedridden patients.
  • Push/Pull: 20 ft.
  • Hand manipulation – grasping and handling pens/pencils during documentation.
  • Use of computer and telephone when required.
  • Operates equipment such as blood pressure gauge, thermometer, stethoscope, Hoyer lift, etc.
Occupational Exposures

May involve exposure to blood, body fluids, infectious disease, air contaminants, and hazardous chemicals. May encounter hostile or emotionally upset patients, family members, associates, or visitors.

Additional Considerations

Must tolerate a high pace typical for a nursing center, give and receive instructions well, and work with the elderly. Prolonged standing and walking tolerated; charting can be done while sitting.
