Location: Quinton
Veterinary Health needs a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide routine daily nursing care for assigned patients. Responsibilities include following the patient assessment and care plan while handling a wide range of tasks that ensure patient comfort, safety and health outcomes.
Responsibilities- Assist patients in and out of bed, using a transfer belt, and into wheelchair if needed.
- Assist bathing, dressing, grooming, peri‑care, and oral care, including brushing teeth and denture care.
- Take and record vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, respiration).
- Assist with feeding (tray delivery, monitoring intake) and provide post‑meal care.
- Help patients eat using their style (with or without assistive devices) and assist with mobility, including walking.
- Strip bedding, replace with clean linens, and maintain hygiene of patient environment.
- Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers as requested.
- Provide skin care, apply and release restraints, and perform range‑of‑motion exercises.
- Offer bowel, bladder, and colostomy care, including catheter care and exercise training.
- Document and report all patient care activities, including I/O, changes in condition, and care delivered, following established guidelines.
- Respond to patient activities of daily living and any additional tasks delegated by the Charge Nurse.
- Participate in nursing center surveys, continuing education, in‑services, and safety procedures, including infection control and compliance with Corporate Compliance Program.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- CNA diploma from an accredited CNA program required. Verification must be provided.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) status required; BLS preferred but not required.
- Ability to lift and transfer patients according to state laws, including up to 40 pounds.
- Must pass a background check and maintain current CNA license.
- Must be on feet continuously throughout the day and able to perform full‑time duties.
- Required lifting tasks up to 40 pounds; use of two aides for heavier patients.
- Capacity to stand, walk, bend, step, and reach at various heights (up to 4 ft). Maintain ability to perform hands‑on tasks such as vital sign measurement, patient repositioning, and grooming.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and staff; hearing, vision, and speech are required for job performance.
