- The lifeguard, under general supervision, ensures the safety of guests at the Waterpark by preventing and responding to emergencies. Ensures that all job duties are performed in compliance with rules, regulations, and company expectations.
- Maintains constant surveillance of guests in the facility.
- Acts promptly and appropriately to secure the safety of guests in case of an emergency.
- Provides emergency care and treatment as needed until the arrival of emergency medical services.
- Maintains a professional appearance and attitude and a high standard of guest service.
- Performs various maintenance duties to keep a clean and safe environment.
- Prepares and keeps proper activity reports.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
- Monitors all relevant activities of the department to ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, and organizational controls.
- Performs duties per the company team member handbook, objectives of the Otoe Missouria Tribe, internal policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
- Maintains the departmental shift log(s) noting unusual occurrences, incidents, equipment failures, safety issues, disputes, etc.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Individuals must be at least 16 years of age.
- Education and/or
Experience:
Prefer 6 months to 1 year related experience. CPR Certified, current lifeguard certification from a recognized source. - Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Must be punctual and dependable; able to work indoors/outdoors and be exposed to prevailing weather; keep lifeguard certification current; able to visually monitor assigned area; able to hear distress signals; able to stay alert for extended periods; initiative in absence of supervision; ability to work with diverse groups; read, write, and speak English; maintain confidentiality; follow instructions; build positive relationships;
present facts in written/oral form; exercise sound judgment; willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays; react calmly in emergencies; apply lifeguarding surveillance and rescue techniques; pass pre-employment physical skills evaluation; knowledge of CPR and emergency medical procedures.

Lifeguard CPR/AED Certification
